The Community Foundation will host a discussion on cyberbullying at 7 p.m. April 23, at the Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall, and at noon April 24, at the Henry Strater Theatre.The Making a Difference event will feature a special appearance by Monica Lewinsky, noted anti-bullying activist and Vanity Fair contributing editor. Lewinsky takes a hard look at our online culture of humiliation, offers advice on how to overcome bullying, and draws from personal experience.
Lewinsky will be joined by a panel of local experts who will talk about their efforts to create cultural change focused on resilience, as well as increasing social connectedness around mental health and suicide.

Rowan Blaisdell, psychotherapist and co-founder of the Rainbow Youth Center.Sean Hembree, Durango High School counselor.Liane Jollon, executive director of the San Juan Basin Health Department.Rhonda Ledford, founder of the CODY project, after experiencing the loss of a child to suicide.Leonard Martinez, school resource police officer with Durango School District 9-R.Matisse Monty, FLC graduating senior and active member of WellPAC.The panel of local experts will share resources and efforts related to important mental health issues in our region, and there will be time for questions from the audience.

Tickets for Wednesday’s event are $100 and can be purchased at www.swcommunityfoundation.org. This event will be a limited-seating luncheon with a storytelling focus. Lewinsky will be joined by locals who will share their struggles to overcome bullying.
