It is that time of year again. The time of year that our team, Montezuma County Search and Rescue, is preparing to get our water rescue equipment ready.
We will still need our winter response gear for quite some time this year, though, so it will not yet be put away.
Please proceed with caution around the creeks and rivers this year. Swift water is very unforgiving. There is no water thrill-ride worth a life.
We are expecting a large volume of runoff this spring.
This is also the time of year that we thank everyone and our partners that help make our team a success.
Thanks to Sheriff Nowlin, Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Onward! A Legacy Foundation, K9 Search and Rescue of Dolores, Diesel Tech and everyone else that has assisted, donated or supported us over the last year.
The sheriff completed our swearing-in ceremony since he is starting a new election period.
He told us that he was proud of all our latest accomplishments and of the team. We have an overwhelming number of new members. We really appreciate all the support from him and all our partners in the surrounding community.
