The Southwest Health System Board of Directors has announced that Anthony Sudduth has been named the CEO of Southwest Health System, effective March 28.
Sudduth joined SHS in April, fulfilling the role of interim CEO.
“During this time, he has led the significant financial turnaround of our organization, and in doing so, has improved every financial metric of our organization,” according to a press release.
“As we continue to work under the forbearance agreement, Tony will continue to work closely with the lenders and others to meet these requirements and guide our organization to financial stability.”
As part of the Community Hospital Corp. team brought in to right the ship, Sudduth has led efforts to implement a corrective action plan that is showing progress.
Sudduth is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Kentucky. He has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare executive roles, including CFO, COO and CEO for nonprofit and for-profit facilities.
SHS said it is “confident in Tony’s quiet leadership, focus, thoughtfulness, and passion for the organization.
With the board, leadership, providers and staff working together we can return SHS to a healthy financial position and the preferred provider for our service area.”
