The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado recently announced new officers for 2019.
William Tookey, San Juan County administrator, was elected to his second year as chair; Todd Starr, Archuleta at-large member, was elected vice chair; Laurie Sigillitto, La Plata at-large member, secretary; and Collen O’Brien, city of Durango, was elected treasurer.
Several new board members were also approved at the January board meeting. New board members include: Clyde Church, La Plata County commissioner; Todd Weaver, Archuleta County attorney; Steve Elias, dean of the School of Business at Fort Lewis College; and Jim Candeleria, Montezuma County commissioner.
The new members join the Region 9 board which is comprised of 26 members – 17 representatives from the local governmental jurisdictions and nine members from the private sector.
