Wednesday, Jan. 9
8:32 a.m.: A man backed into a car parked at Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St., and left a note with contact information. There was minor damage to both vehicles.
11:40 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of N. Ash St. for violating a protection order against consuming alcohol.
10:55 a.m.: A woman was cited for trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. She was trespassed from the library for six months as of Dec. 3, 2018. She said she was just trying to warm up.
1:09 p.m.: The woman who was cited for trespassing at the library was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and domestic violence after allegedly pushing a man to the ground at Grace’s Soup Kitchen, 110 W. North St.
6:36 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a protection order violation and a failure to comply and a failure to appear warrant. The man was intoxicated and attempted to get inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
8:50 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Sundance RV Park, 815 E. Main St., on a failure to appear warrant.
Thursday, Jan. 10
11:05 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant outside of Sundance Dental Care of Cortez, 111 S. Sligo St. The officer waited for her to exit the office.
11:03 a.m.: A man was cited for trespassing at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.
2:49 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a felony warrant from La Plata County as she walked in the 200 block of S. Chestnut St.
3:30 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1300 block of E. Montezuma Ave. on a warrant.
Friday, Jan. 11
6:29 a.m.: A man and woman were issued trespass notices for being intoxicated and cussing at customers and staff at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St.
3:22 p.m.: A man was cited for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. He was previously trespassed from City Market indefinitely.
11:38 p.m.: A man was cited for disturbing the peace for beating on the door at The Bridge Emergency Shelter, 24 N. Chestnut St.
Saturday, Jan. 12
12:21 a.m.: A man was cited for driving in the 900 block of E. Montezuma Ave. with a defective brake light and driving under restraint and was served two misdemeanor traffic warrants.
1:51 a.m.: A man was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and obstruction of a telephone on the 1000 block of Cornett St. for allegedly throwing a phone book at his mom when she refused to take him to the liquor store.
9:22 a.m.: A truck driver who parked a semitrailer hauling two new tractor trucks in the parking lot at City Market, at 508 E. Main St., reported that someone spray-painted a star on the driver’s side of the cab.
11:30 a.m.: A woman was cited for driving without insurance and displaying expired plates on the 500 block of W. Main St. A male passenger was arrested on an active warrant.
12:07 p.m.: An employee at City Market, at 508 E. Main St., reported that her Subaru Forester was stolen during her shift. She said she left the keys in the console and doors unlocked.
Sunday, Jan. 13
12:58 a.m.: A woman was arrested for DUI and careless driving after nearly causing a collision while merging into a lane in the 400 block of E. Main St.
10:17 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of E. Main St. on a La Plata County failure to comply warrant.
11:55 a.m.: A man hiding under a bed at a residence on the 700 block of W. Seventh St. was arrested on a probation violation warrant out of Bannock County. A woman gave permission for an officer to search the home. She said the man was kicked out of the house a few days ago because of the warrant.
12:06 p.m.: A woman reported graffiti on a shed on the 600 block of S. Washington St. Someone used black spray paint to write “PK,” “CK,” “5UR” and “2019.”
12:26 p.m.: A juvenile was arrested for trespassing at Jimmy’s Transmission Driveline, at 210 E. First St. He reportedly ran away from home.
5:08 p.m.: A man was arrested for violating a protection order at City Market, 508 E. Main St. He was lying by the front entrance to the store, was intoxicated and had a 16-ounce bottle of cooking wine in his backpack. The man has a protection order stating he may not consume alcohol.
7:31 p.m.: A man and women were cited for theft from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. A Walmart loss-prevention employee observed the two attempting to conceal a $14.97 pair of AND1 shoes and a $15.44 butane torch. They ran away from the store but turned themselves in.
Monday, Jan. 14
8:32 a.m.: A man was arrested for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.
11:16 a.m.: A female inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant.
11:24 a.m.: A woman reported a hit-and-run at City Market, 508 E. Main St. She said a vehicle struck the driver’s side of her vehicle as it exited the parking lot.
Tuesday, Jan. 15
2:02 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on three Cortez Municipal Court warrants.
2:46 p.m. A woman outside Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a Weld County warrant.
3:46 p.m.: Homeowners on the 200 block of S. Washington St. reported graffiti on their shed. There were no initial suspects or leads.
4:07 p.m.: A man outside Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a warrant charging him with harassment, domestic violence and protection order violation.
