The Cortez Fire Protection District responded to an ATV fire Wednesday at 9:10 a.m. at South Washington Street in the Happy Valley Trailer Park.
The fire was doused, and there were no injuries, said District Chief Jay Balfour, but one man did get his goatee singed.
Two workers were warming up the older-model vehicle in preparation to plow snow, when it burst into flames due to a leaking fuel line.
“Kudos to the workers for pushing it out into the street and away from two residences,” Balfour said.
