The Mancos Chamber of Commerce is seeking a qualified artist to paint an outdoor mural on a painted, cinder block wall with western exposure. The dimensions are 40 feet by 9 feet. The chosen artist must agree to properly prep the wall prior to painting. The selection committee, which will be chosen by the Chamber of Commerce Board, will only be considering artists with previous mural experience and one that can guarantee a completion date of July 15, 2013.
The request is open to all Montezuma and La Plata County artists who have completed a minimum of two large scale (approx. 10' x 20') outdoor murals.
The them of the mural should be a ranching heritage, with cattle drives in particular.
In making the final decision, the chosen committee will take into consideration all aspects of the application, including design, price, theme and experience.
Applicants must submit a minimum of one photo image of each of their previously completed murals. Details of those completed murals must include locations, size and price per square foot. Applicant will also submit a projected cost for the Mancos Mural Project. Please submit all images, details and contact information via email to [email protected].
