Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center will sponsor a full-day introductory workshop in Mancos on QuickBooks, a popular accounting software for small-business owners.
The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.

Mancos, on Oct. 17 at Pueblo Community College Southwest’s conference room. The campus is at 33057 U.S. Highway 160.Pagosa Springs, Oct. 23 at the First Southwest Bank community room, 249 Navajo Trail Drive.Durango, Nov. 27 at TBK Bank, 259 W. Ninth St.The workshop, taught by CPA, Certified QuickBooks adviser and Fort Lewis College accounting professor Laura E. Hokanson, will help small-business owners understand revenue and expenditures. Hokanson will explain how the software works and how it can help manage the finances of a business and save time.
Topics include how to get through the setup process, create a chart of accounts, lists, the key to invoices and cash receipts, basic sales and payment processing, vendors and easy bill paying, banking and credit card transactions and a good profit and loss report.
The workshop costs $70.
