On Wednesday, the Cortez Department of Parks and Recreation will host a third and final open house and picnic to gather feedback about the community park that will replace the demolished Montezuma-Cortez High School.
The final design plan will be revealed at the open house, and residents will be asked to suggest names for the new park. Food and games will be offered to attendees.
The event will run from 2-8 p.m. at the site of the new park, West Seventh and South Oak streets.
Park designs were secured in part through a grant by Great Outdoors Colorado, a nonprofit funded primarily by the lottery.
