The Cortez Historic Preservation Board is working to approve changes to a grant application it submitted to History Colorado, the state’s historical society, that would secure funding for a podcast created by KSJD about the history of Cortez.
The board previously secured $7,000 in funding for the project, then revised the application after seeking podcast producers.
Board Vice President Linda Towle said during the board’s meeting Wednesday that she was waiting on History Colorado’s deputy preservation officer, Mark Rodman, to approve the changes to the grant.
Towle said that once the changes were approved, the committee could draw up a final contract for KSJD to begin producing the podcast.
