I have been on the Dolores School Board with Mrs. McCoy for seven years. We are both term limited in November 2019.
We have supported and voted for many of the same things.
One of the major complaints against Mrs. McCoy has been the low test scores and dropping from a school of distinction to being on a watch list.
This year the scores have increased and we are off the watch list and have received a letter of accreditation of performance, which is the second highest level of accreditation that the Colorado Department of Education awards.
Mrs. McCoy has been instrumental in starting the Best Foot Forward program, which helps preschoolers transition into kindergarten. She wrote the grant for the first $10,000 to establish the very successful infant-toddler program.
