5:06 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County Detention Center’s booking area was served two warrants and left in the custody of the jail.
9:27 p.m.: A deputy responded to a report of a fight at the water docks, 20 N. Park St., and found a man sleeping. A police officer arrived to investigate, and warned the deputy that the man has a history of spitting on officers. The man eventually got to his feet, then spit at the police officer, who placed him face down on the ground to keep him from spitting on anyone else. The man was still spitting as he was arrested, so a deputy placed a spit hood on his head, and officers placed him in a patrol car.
Friday, Aug. 31
4:53 a.m.: A woman who had been pulled over for speeding by the Bureau of Indian Affairs at the Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, was cited for driving with a suspended license and an expired Florida license plate. Her passenger also did not have a valid license.
9:58 a.m.: A man at Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a felony warrant that included two charges of possessing a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia, theft of $2,000-$5,000, and criminal mischief.
6:08 p.m.: An officer working a Gaming Impact shift in the 2300 block of U.S. Highway 160 stopped a driver for speeding and cited her for driving with a denied license.
6:48 p.m.: A driver was pulled over in the 43000 block of U.S. Highway 160 after a deputy noticed more passengers than seat belts, and arrested him on a warrant.
Tuesday, Sept. 2
2:35 a.m.: The case of a man who apparently crashed his dirt bike near County Roads G and 25 south of Cortez was turned over to the Colorado State Patrol.
