Friends of the Dolores Library will hold a kickoff meeting for library patrons who are interested in volunteering for projects on Sept. 26 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Dolores Public Library. This meeting is rescheduled from a previously publicized date.
The original Friends of the Dolores Library was established to help raise funds for the construction in 2004 of the current building on Railroad Avenue. Over time, this organization became inactive.
A small team of Dolores Public Library patrons has been acting as an interim leadership committee and working with the library director, Diana Donohue, to re-establish the Friends group. The committee is seeking new members from the library community.
The kickoff meeting will provide information about Friends of the Dolores Library, its history and purpose, how the group supports the library, potential projects and ways members can volunteer. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
An application is at doloreslibrary.org/friends.
