10:53 a.m.: A man was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct after confronting a couple at a picnic table in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., and following and yelling at them as they walked away.
12:16 p.m.: A man was cited for shoplifting food items at City Market, 508 E. Main St.
1:14 p.m.: A driver hit a vehicle as it backed out of a parking space in the 400 block of North Park Street.
1:22 p.m.: A youth reported that five of his father’s marijuana plants had been stolen from their yard in the 500 block of South Market Street. An officer informed them of a lawful way to grow marijuana, and the youth said he wouldn’t call if it happened again.
7:04 p.m.: A man was arrested on a protection-order violation after visiting his mother’s house in the 1500 block of North Taylor Street. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of intoxication, then jailed.
2:14 p.m.: A woman in the 100 block of North Elm Street reported that someone hit her vehicle in the past 24 hours, causing $800 in damage.
3:10 p.m.: A woman at Southwest Memorial reported that her cat, Booboo, bit her at her home in the 600 block of South Valley Road. The Montezuma Vet Clinic confirmed that the cat had been vaccinated for rabies, and the woman was ordered to confine Booboo for a time to be sure.
Thursday, July 26
1:28 a.m.: An intoxicated man at Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., was taken by ambulance to Southwest Memorial Hospital and then by police car to jail.
10:59 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
4:08 p.m.: A woman reported that her wallet, containing credit cards and $268 in cash, was stolen at City Market, 508 E. Main St.
6:08 p.m.: A driver who said he was in Cortez for a pickleball tournament was pulled over in the 10 block of Roger Smith Avenue and cited for soliciting prostitution after he approached a female pedestrian. He asked if he could still play pickleball, and the officer said it was OK.
6:52 p.m.: A woman who had accused a pickleball player of solicitation was cited for possessing alcohol in City Park, 802 East Main St. Her companion was arrested for violating alcohol-related bond conditions.
9:40 p.m.: An intoxicated man who was suspected of stealing a 12-pack of beer from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was arrested for violating alcohol-related bond conditions, shoplifting and trespass. He was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital for clearance, then to jail.
Friday, July 27
12:20 a.m.: A man was arrested at a residence in the 200 block of S. Harrison St. on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment after allegedly spitting at a woman, kicking her and pulling her arms. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
10:02 a.m.: A man walking in the 500 block of West Sixth Street was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and for investigation of possessing meth.
1:38 p.m.: An employee at Big O Tires, 1856 E. Main St., reported a hit-and-run crash that caused $7,000 damage to half the store’s awning. The entire awning needed to be replaced, he said, at a cost of $15,000.
3:22 p.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed for extradition to Towaoc on a felony warrant from Ute Mountain Ute tribal police.
2:53 p.m.: A man was cited with a bond violation in City Park, 802 E. Main St., after admitting consuming alcohol.
5:15 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant as she walked toward City Park, 802 E. Main St.
7:09 p.m. A man was arrested in the 10 block of South Cactus Street for violating alcohol-related bond conditions and was trespassed from Walmart. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
10:18 p.m.: A man was cited for shoplifting $420 worth of cleaning, personal and clothing products from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.
Saturday, July 28
1:09 a.m.: A man was arrested on a protection-order violation after reportedly fighting with a woman at a residence in the 500 block of South Madison Street. The woman declined medical attention and declined to press charges. The man’s 55 grams of marijuana and a grinder were seized, and he was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
2:20 a.m.: A man driving with unlighted headlamps was pulled over in the 200 block of North Broadway and arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving with a revoked license, violating alcohol-related bond conditions, and driving with unlighted lamps.
8:41 a.m.: A man was cited in a parking lot in the 700 block of East Main Street for trespass and violating alcohol-related bond conditions.
8:53 a.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested in the 100 block of North Park Street for violating alcohol-related bond conditions, and was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed. At the jail, his BAC registered 4.0, the high limit on the breath analyzer.
10:04 a.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., for violating alcohol-related protection order.
6:44 p.m.: A woman was arrested on three warrants in City Park, 802 E. Main St., after she was seen drinking Listerine. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
12:16 p.m.: An employee at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., reported that a man and three youths left the restaurant without paying for $54.02 in food and drinks.
Sunday, July 29
1:50 a.m.: A man was arrested 300 S. Market St. on charges of DUI and DUI per se. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
11:31 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a New Mexico warrant after being pulled over at 6040 N. Broadway for failing to signal lane changes.
11:31 p.m. A man who turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center was served with a Cortez warrant.
10:48 p.m.: A woman was pulled over at 400 W. Seventh St. for weaving and was arrested on charges of weaving, failing to provide proof of insurance, and driving with a suspended license. She also faces a felony charge of criminal impersonation after identifying herself as her sister. Her dog and car were released to a friend.
