Durango KOA receives TripAdvisor award

It was recently announced that the Durango KOA Holiday campground received the 2018 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

Awards are based on the quantity and quality of reviews received from guests by TripAdvisor.

The Durango KOA campground, owned by Julian and Kachina Starr, is located at 30090 U.S. Highway 160.

The Strater Hotel, owned for decades by Rod Barker and his family, sold the hotel this week to Ross Garrett, who lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Galloping Goose Historical Society in Dolores works on restoring five rail cars that ran on area rialroad tracks.

Saturday night’s demolition derby drew about 1,600 fans to Fairgrounds Speedway.
