The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad hopes to resume coal-fired steam engine rides from Durango to Silverton on Thursday.
A Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train returns to Durango from Silverton on Tuesday evening. La Plata County granted the railroad permission Tuesday to take the train back to Durango from Silverton to prepare for a possible reopening Thursday. The train had been be unable to return to Durango since the 416 Fire broke out June 1.
