Silver Wave Seafood Co. is now taking pre-orders for its second annual summer harvest. The boat-to-table business offers Southwest Colorado residents wild-caught salmon from their fishing vessel, the “Silver Wave,” in Southeast Alaska.
Ten- to fifty-pound shares of fresh frozen wild-caught Alaskan salmon as well as cans of smoked salmon are available to pre-order for a fall harvest delivery in September, when orders can be picked up in Durango, Cortez or Telluride.
The deadline to place orders is August 19. Last year, during Silver Wave’s first year orders sold out prior to the deadline.
“Due to the overwhelmingly positive response after our first season we are very excited to continue to share our catch of wild salmon from Southeast Alaska with the communities of Southwest Colorado,” said Silver Wave co-founder MJ Carroll, in a news release.
In order to be efficient, sustainable and affordable with a high quality product, Silver Wave’s community-supported platform, where minimum orders are placed in advance, provides an accurate amount of fish for Silver Wave Captain and Durango resident, Eric Macias, to catch, process, package and deliver.
