The Aztec Ruins Summer Lecture Series will hold a presentation by Paul Reed, an archaeologist and Chaco Canyon scholar, at 7 p.m. Friday, at the Aztec Ruins National Monument Visitor Center, 725 Ruins Road, in Aztec.
Reed will discuss activities developing outside the greater Chaco Canyon landscape in relation to Archaeology Southwest, a nonprofit organization that seeks to protect the ancestral landscape of the Chacoan society. He will give an update about the management plan, national historic preservation and ethnology studies for 2018 at Chaco Culture National Historical Park.
The park gates will be open for lecture attendees from 6:45 to 7:20 p.m.
