The Salida Circus plans two performances made for the family at the Cortez Public Library in June.

Described as a wonderful accident waiting to happen, the “circus with a purpose” will be at the library on June 13 at 2 p.m. as part of the Summer Reading Program’s Family Entertainment show and on June 15 at 10 a.m. for Literary Fridays @ the Library.

“Bring your kids, your parents and your grandparents,” children’s librarian Laura McHenry said in a press release. “This ‘circus with a purpose’ will provide fun, interactive shows for everyone. They’re Colorado’s most unique troupe of stilt walkers, aerialists, acrobats, magicians, jugglers and balloon twisters!”

Sponsors are Golden Dreams under Onward!, Four Corners Free Press, The Farm Bistro, Friends of the Cortez Library, KSJD Community Radio and Maria’s Bookshop. The library is at 202 N. Park St.

For more information, call the library at 970-565-8117.
