Starting yesterday, Nov. 1 we switched to our winter hours. We are now open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Our next Chamber Board meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 13 to accommodate our president, Ryan Mahoney, and my schedule. We usually meet on the second Thursday of the month, but that would be on the 8th and I will be out of town on that day and other dates would not work for Ryan so Tuesday the 13th it is at noon at the Visitor’s Center.

Our last business after hours was a huge success. It was hosted by the Dolores State Bank. The food, prepared by Shawna Valdez, was fantastic. The networking, mingling and munching was great. The entire Dolores community is so very proud of our new bank building. It is a beautiful facility.

Our future business after hours schedule is set through February. There will be none in November and December and tentatively Riverfront Pizza will host our first one on Jan. 17 and on Feb. 21 we will be at the Cortez Cultural Center.

The Dolores Chamber and Dolores Public Library co-hosted an Introduction to Quickbooks Class last Tuesday and it was an overwhelming success. We had numerous businesses and individuals from throughout Montezuma County participating. Region 9 Colorado, The Dolores State Bank, SBDC with Joe Keck and Ft. Lewis College also sponsored this event.

We are looking at hosting a Facebook & Social Media Class for local businesses and individuals as well in the near future to help our members find more ways to market and promote their businesses in a cost effective and culturally relevant manner.
