The Southwest Colorado Cycling Association, San Juan Mountains Association and Tres Rios Field Office are teaming up to start work on the new trails at Phil’s World, and volunteers are needed.

To help build a new trail, meet at the Phil’s World main parking lot off of U.S. Highway 160 on June 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers should wear work clothes and sturdy shoes and bring gloves, a day pack with snacks and water, and hat and sunscreen.

Tools will be provided.

This is a moderate to difficult project. Lunch provided to registered volunteers. Kids are welcome at lunch, but please leave your dogs at home.

National Trails Day features a series of outdoor activities, designed to promote and celebrate the importance of trails in the United States.
