The Cortez Public Library’s weekly Storytime will feature “Take a Hike!” with park ranger Jennifer Frost, of the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument Visitors Center and Museum, on June 7 at 10:30 a.m.
Interactive activities provided by discover HEALTH/Descubre la Salud include a “wavy tactile path” from Weplay and backpacks that contain a hat, bottled water, sunglasses and an empty first aid kit to play with. An English/Spanish guide to healthful food will be available, and a craft will be provided, according to children’s librarian Laura McHenry.
The storytime ties in with the library’s traveling exhibit and is sponsored by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Science Technology Activities and Resources for Libraries. The library partnered with Southwest Colorado Area Health Education Center in order to present this exhibit to the public.
A self-guided tour is available through June.
