While there are several important issues clouding the horizon at this time, and some momentous decisions to be made, such as “Yes to 3B” and who will be the next president, it is my sincere hope that a less publicized but equally important issue is not lost in the shuffle.

Of great concern to our community, our beloved Cultural Center is in financial jeopardy, and that means that not only our immediate locale but a very much larger area could be affected. This facility has served a widespread cultural need for some 25 years. In no way can I recount all the local benefits, but has also grown to be an attraction the world over. As a volunteer at the center for more than 20 years, I know of visitors from almost every country, as well as every state in our union, and many of those visitors have returned second and third times.

What can we do to help stabilize the future of this unique facility? Let’s put our minds and efforts, and maybe even some financial aid into assuring this area that we will always have a Cultural Center, an open door to the wealth of cultural treasures that here abound.
