MUSIC FOR YOUR SOUL: Gracing the stage at Montezuma-Cortez High School for the 59th season of the Southwest Colorado Concert Series on Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. will be Cahal Dunne. He is known as Irelands Happy Man, Dunne is a composer and pianist who is sure to have some wonderful stories to tell. Come listen to a different type of Irish jig!
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: Mesa Verde National Park is proud to announce the 2013 Artist-In-Residence (AIR) program. Begun during Mesa Verde National Parks 2006 Centennial, the program provides accomplished writers, composers, and visual and performing artists the opportunity to pursue their particular art form while being surrounded by the inspiring ancient architecture of the Ancestral Pueblo People and the sweeping natural landscape of the park. The park provides a historic, rustic residence to selected participants for four, two-week periods: May 5-18; May 19-June 1; Sept. 1-14 and Sept. 15-28.
All participants will be required to attend a short orientation session before being allowed to enter backcountry areas. Also, participants will be required to be a National Park Service Volunteer-In-Park (VIP) during their residency. No stipend is provided. Participants in the Artist-In-Residence program will find the cabin fully furnished including linens and kitchenware. In return, participating artists are asked to donate to the park an original piece of work from, and representative of, their residency in Mesa Verde National Park. Entries for the 2013 program are accepted from Oct. 1, 2012 through March 1, 2013. Notifications of finalists will be made by April 15, 2013. MOAB FUN: The 10th annual Moab Folk Festival happens on the weekend of Nov. 2, 3 & 4. There is a fabulous lineup for this three day event of talent. Artists taking the stage in theindoor, evening venues include Harry Manx, Cheryl Wheeler, Willy Porter, Cosy Sheridan, Ellis, and Phoebe Hunt. Outdoor, daytime performers include Suzy Bogguss, Sara Hickman, Tony Furtado, Eilen Jewel, The Doug Wyntch Band, and SHEL. Last chance to enjoy the red rocks of southern Utah.
The last ArtWalk in Moab will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6 9 p.m, however, the exhibits are up and waiting for you, so go when the sun is still shining!

MANCOS TOWN GALLERY: The next show SUNNY DAZE willl feature photographpy by Patricia Burke and Brenda Burton, with drawings by Cat Fox, all featuring impressions of Costa Rica. The show will open with an artists reception on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 4 6 p.m. at the Visitors Center on Bauer. The show will run until Dec. 15!
FARMINGTON ARTS: At Artifacts Gallery & Chili Shop, from Nov. 2 through 30, Good Morning New Mexico- a traveling show by Georgie Sichler Bemis will be the featured work. Georgies show celebrates the 100th birthday of New Mexico (one of the last states to join the union.) The show will feature artwork from every county in New Mexico.
