Locals who don’t purchase season passes frequently travel to ski shows in Albuquerque, Phoenix or Denver to take advantage of Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort’s 4-Pak deals.

The 4-Paks — four lift tickets registered to one individual – this year will include a lodging card for those traveling from out of town, but the resort is also offering a new ski-lift package catered to locals.

The Local 50/50 Card can be purchased for $50. The discount card allows locals to purchase $50 lift tickets throughout the season, with the exception of a few blackout dates.

The card can be purchased at the DMR office in Bodo Industrial Park.

The ski shows also will offer new discounted ski-lift packages such as the 10-Pak for $429.

The 4-Pak PLUS Lodging Card includes four lift tickets and one night of lodging for two people in “slopeside accommodations,” according to a DMR news release. The 4-Pak is available at the shows for $239.

Another lodging card, the Pre-Paid Slopeside Lodging Card, is new this year. The card is for two nights for two people and costs $150.

The resort created the new lodging cards in response to feedback from visitors wanting lodging deals in addition to discounted lift tickets, the release said.

Other programs are continuing this year, including the 2-Day Punch Pass, Senior Days and the Locals Benefit Day program.

The 2-Day Punch Pass can also be picked up at the Bodo DMR office for $89. The pass is valid Jan. 7 through Feb. 15.

Senior Days will be held Dec. 19, Jan. 16, Feb. 13 and March 6 for seniors older than 65. The package costs $59 and includes a lift ticket, valet parking and a lunch special.

Locals Benefit Days will be held Dec. 16, Jan. 13, Feb. 10 and March 3. Lift tickets on those days cost $40 with a portion of the sales going toward local nonprofit groups.
