By all means, focus on the people

Tim Hunter (Journal, April 9), says that “focusing on the device (guns) is like saying the car is at fault in a drunken driving fatality. What he misses is that if you drive drunk, you lose the ability to drive, and that in order to drive you need to pass a driving test.

All gun owners should have to pass extensive training and background checks and retest after five years, as well as register their firearms. So if this is focusing on the people rather than the device, I am all with him.
