Given Home Heatlh PC is a new face for home health care in the Cortez area. Located at 21262 Road 20 in Lewis, they are taking their first Medicare patients this month and have been serving self-pay patients since September. They are here to provide generous care to patients in or outside of Cortez who are unable to leave their home. They will offer a variety of health services including pre and post op care, physical and occupational therapy, medical social services, homemaker companion and more. Sandra Shepherd, RN, is the owner of the family operated business which comes out of her own home. Shepherd has been in the health care industry for 17 years and has been a registered nurse for 10 years. She is also looking for a few experienced, helpful individuals who want to provide a service to patients in our area. There are at least 10 various positions open. T.J.s Cafe in Pleasant View hosts fundraiser
Newly opened restaurant, T.Js Cafe located in Pleasant View, is teaming up with other independent new businesses in the Pleasant View, Cahone and Lewis area, to raise money for the Dove Creek music department. They will be hosting a small autumn fair on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., complete with pumpkin carving and decorating, chili contest, music and childrens games.
