Dr. John Pearsall, a pediatrician at Cortez Integrated Healthcare, will meet with families on May 2 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Cortez Public Library to answer questions about children’s health topics.
Light refreshments will be served, and the event is free, according to a promotional announcement from Karla Sluis, marketing manager at Axis Health System.
“I believe healthcare is a partnership between the patient, parents and physician,” Pearsall said in a prepared statement.
Pearsall is accepting new patients at Cortez Integrated Healthcare, 691 East Empire St. The clinic is a federally designated Community Health Center and part of the nonprofit Axis Health System. It accepts Medicaid and CHP+, and a sliding-fee scale is available for those who qualify. Non-native English speakers are welcome.
The event coincides with “Discover Health/Descubre La Salud,” a free exhibition about public health that also encourages youths to pursue careers in health care.
