The 2012 election is coming up soon. Today, Oct. 9, is the last day to register to vote. Residents can either log on to www.govotecolorado.com or come into the Montezuma County Clerks office at 140 W. Main St., Suite 1, Cortez.
People can also check the voter registration status at the state website.
Mail-in ballots are scheduled to go out the week of Oct. 15 and early voting will begin on Oct. 22. The last day for early voting is Nov. 2.
There is one location for early voting and that will be in the Montezuma County Annex 107 N. Chestnut Street. Voting will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Voters will need to bring a form of identification to the polling place.
Drop-off locations for mail-in ballots will be at the Clerks Office and there will be one available on Saturday Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Annex, 107 N. Chestnut St.
Election day is Nov. 6 with the polls opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election day.
