I am a parent of a Pagosa player and have attended many soccer games over the years. Ive seen a lot of unsportsmanlike behavior from players and parents alike. I just want to express how impressed I was with the parents, players and spectators at the Sept. 15 high school soccer game versus Pagosa Springs. The players played a great, clean game; parents of the Cortez players were friendly, and what impressed me most of all was at the end of the game when spectators cheered for both teams as the players left the field.
Not very often do players feel welcomed when playing on the opposing teams field. Cortez should be proud of the hospitality and kindness it showed to Pagosa players and parents. Thank you!
