Dear Editor:

On September 7, we had a small house fire at our home, and were very fortunate that it remained small. Thanks to the quick reaction of Satchel Coburn, who called 911, the Dolores Volunteer Fire Department were quickly on the way. While they were responding, Andy Baines, Kurt Haun, Josh Munson, Adam Gylling and Houston Mannis grabbed garden hoses, and sprayed down the fire, and the adjacent part of the house. Thanks to their quick response, the fire was contained to a very small area, and had not grown by the time the Dolores Volunteer Fire Department showed up. Hard work by the Volunteers put out the fire in short order, and saved the house from total destruction. We would like to thank Andy, Kurt, Adam, Houston, Satchel, the Dolores Volunteer Fire Department, the paramedics, and the entire community for their help and support. We probably did not get names for all of those who helped us out, but want to thank them also. We are blessed to live in such a great community, and are very appreciative of all it provides.
