Are you ready to accept responsibility, improve your accountability, or improve on your life skills? 4-H is just the organization that you need to be a part of.

What is 4-H? 4-H is a youth organization which develops and strengthens positive life skills that youth need for their future. Critical thinking, respect for self and others and self esteem are all important attributes that 4-H focuses on. 4-H is community and we strive to give back to the community by raising money for free mammograms, making valentine cards for the elderly, painting bleachers at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds and so much more.

Who can join? You can enroll in 4-H as a Cloverbud, between the ages of 5-7. “Cloverbuds” is growing in popularity because kids attend club and project meetings. They can participate in most projects of 4-H, other than competing at the Montezuma County Fair. 4-H members are eligible to be in 4-H from ages 8-18, attending club and project meetings and competing at the Montezuma County Fair. Enrollment begins Oct. 1 and runs through December 31.

The Montezuma County Extension Office has information on all 4-H Clubs in Montezuma County and will provide information for you and your family about 4-H. If you’d like to enroll as a volunteer, you will also need to enroll in 4-H. We do a complete background check on you. You will also need to attend an orientation before you may work with the 4-H community. Because our focus is youth, we do everything we can to protect them.

If you think you have what it takes to “Join the Revolution of Responsibility”, we’d love to enroll you in the Montezuma County 4-H Program. Please call Tonya Yates at 970-565-3123 for more information.
