DUI Convictions

The following are convictions made for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the following: drug/alcohol evaluations, Victim Impact Panel, Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving, Level II education and therapy, Alive at 25, inpatient and/ or outpatient treatment or therapy, and must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. Suspended imposition of additional jail sentence (in parentheses) is conditional upon completing probation successfully and are awarded if all other requirements of the sentence are completed within one year. Dollar amounts are fines and court costs defendants were ordered to pay.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 18

Ÿ Mona Jimenez, 40, of Dolores. This is defendant’s 3rd alcohol-related conviction. Seventy-five days in jail, with an additional 365 days in jail suspended imposition, 24 months supervised probation, $1,333.50, community service 90 hours.

DWAI Convictions

The following are convictions for driving while ability impaired with a blood alcohol content between 0.05 percent and 0.08 percent or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the classes or programs listed above in the DUI category; additional listed conditions also apply

TUESDAY, SEPT. 18

Ÿ Christopher S. Begay, 37, of Teec Nos Pos, Ariz. This is defendant’s 2nd alcohol-related driving conviction. Ten days in jail with 1 day credit for time served, with an additional 365 days jail suspended imposition, 24 months supervised probation, $1,306.50, community service 48 hours.

MONDAY, SEPT. 17

Ÿ Liana M. Cisco, 32, of Cortez. Ten days in jail with 2 days credit for time served, $184.50. She was also ordered to complete a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations, and provide proof to the court within 30 days that an appointment has been made.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 18

Ÿ Slim P. Whitehorse, 24, of Pleasant View. Ten days in jail with 2 days credit for time served, $184.50.

DRUGS

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19

Ÿ Colette D. Littlewhiteman, 19, of Towaoc. Possession of drug paraphernalia, $131.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 20

Ÿ Bryan J. Kellerman, 29, of Ruidoso Downs, N.M. Possession of marijuana — under 2 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, $536.

OTHER

In some cases, a sentence includes a deferred judgment. A deferred judgment is not a conviction; it is a sentence typically put off (deferred) for a specific period of time, typically a year. If the defendant complies with each of the conditions of the deferred sentence within the allotted time period, the defendant’s record is cleared of the charge.

Ÿ George C. Schulte, 43, of Cortez. Driving after revocation prohibited (Habitual Traffic Offender), 150 days in jail, 65 days credit for time served, $214.50.

Ÿ Ariel Belinda Rose McKinney, 23, of Cortez. Harassment — strike/shove/kick. Deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation, $261.50.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19

Ÿ Tracy D. Alexander, 40, of Cortez. Criminal Mischief — under $500, $234.50, Restitution is open for 90 days.

Ÿ Shneice S. Ten, 18, of Cortez. Underage possession of alcohol, $56, community service 24 hours, alcohol and drug evaluation, proof of completion to be provided to the court within 2 weeks.

Ÿ Val Tsosie, 36, Shiprock, N.M. Careless Driving, 10 days in jail with suspended imposition, 12 months supervised probation deferred sentence, $202.50.

Ÿ Kyle Cruzan, 42, of Cortez. Careless driving resulting in injury, $348.50.

Ÿ Ganielle L. George, 18, of Towaoc. Careless driving, driving without a driver’s license, failure to display proof of insurance. Deferred judgment 12 months unsupervised probation, $372.50.

Ÿ John Linton Jr., 44, of Cortez. Careless Driving, 30 days in jail suspended imposition, 12 months supervised state probation, $723.50.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 20

Ÿ Michael N. Miranowski, 50, of Aurora, Colo. Careless driving resulting in injury, $485.50.

Ÿ Ariana E. Ross, 21, of Boulder, Colo. Careless driving, $473.50, Restitution is open for 90 days.

Ÿ Anthony M. Benoit, 47, of Cortez. Criminal Mischief — under $500, $234.50, Restitution is open for 90 days.
