Dolores High School is making a change in its Athletic Department. As of Sept. 12, the department will be charging an admittance fee for all High School Junior Varsity Athletic events. This decision is not based on our attempts to make a profit for our Athletic Department, but merely an attempt to cover the costs that incur when an athletic event takes place. Currently, our policy is to charge for C squad and JV games only when they precede a Varsity event. We also do not charge for any MS athletic events. Other participating schools in the SJBL (San Juan Basin League) have their own policies as to charging for JV events. CHSAA only sets the fee stipulation for district, regional and state events. The gate fee will be just as it is for a Varsity game, $5.00 for adults, free for students with ID cards, $2.00 for students w/out an ID card and free for pre-school age children. The following is a breakdown of the costs of our last JV Football game at home and a breakdown of a home volleyball game. These same costs are incurred each time we host a MS Football game, where no gate fee is charged either.

FB Game on 9/4/12:

Gate Revenue $302.00 - 4 referees @ 42.00 each = 168.00

3 workers for the chain crew @ 15.00 each = 45.00

1 scorekeeper on the clock @ 15.00 = 15.00

Ticket Taker – 2 @ $15 = 30.00

TOTAL PROFIT/(LOSS) $ 44.00

VB Game on 9/11/12

Gate Revenue $167.50

2 referees = 224.00

3 workers for line judges @ $10/Game = 60.00

1 scorekeeper on the clock = 30.00

1 books = 30.00

Ticket Taker – 2 Games @ $15.00 = 30.00

TOTAL PROFIT/(LOSS) ($206.50)
