Twenty-first century jobs are exciting and challenging. We have iPods, iPads, satellites, fiber optics, and the ability to store digital information that was unimaginable a few years ago. Workplace challenges at every level require collaboration and an ability to make sense of data coming from around the world. Agriculture, energy, technology, manufacturing, commerce are world markets. From the smallest towns to the largest cities, we are all affected by these changes.

Preparing our children to meet these challenges and take advantage of these opportunities requires quality school facilities, including a new high school for the Montezuma-Cortez School District. The existing facilities will not do the job. As a small-business owner, scientist and grandparent, I encourage residents of this district to support the new high school by voting for 3B on the November ballot and give our children the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to this exciting new world. It is probably our last chance to have a half-price high school.
