A thought:

Samuel S. Green, of the Worcester Public Library in 1876 wrote:

“Certain mental qualities are requisite or desirable in library officers who mingle with readers. Prominent among these is a courteous disposition which will disclose itself in agreeable manners. Sympathy, cheerfulness, and patience are needful. Enthusiasm is as productive of good results here as elsewhere. A librarian should be as unwilling to allow an inquirer to leave the library with his question unanswered as a shop-keeper is to have a customer go out of his store without making a purchase.”

A note from youth services:

If you are an empty nester, kids off at college or careers and you have some left over Legos, Dominos or K’nex just taking up space in your spare room, attic or basement, the kids after school program Gaming Days here at Mancos Public Library would love to have them! Please call Kate at MPL, 533-7600 if you would like to donate them. Thanks!
