The Town of Mancos has identified the development of an integrated community system for non-motorized, hiking and biking trails as a high community priority. The Town has hired DHM Design from Durango to assist with the planning process. This project includes plans for connecting the town’s commercial core and existing river walk with parks and regional attractions such as Mesa Verde National Park, the Colorado Trail, and other public lands. There have been two community meetings this summer.

The third community meeting will be held at town hall on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. The draft master plan will be presented, including: potential trail routes, priorities, partnerships, and funding. The meeting will provide an opportunity for public input.
