Mountain Daylight Time: Pesticides

A group of Durango residents has drafted an ordinance designed to forbid the use of synthetic pesticides in the city's public parks. When City Council unanimously rejected the ordinance, the group decided to place the proposal before voters on the November General Election ballot and let the majority decide the issue.

KATRINA BLAIR is a naturalist and gardener. She is the founder of Turtle Island Refuge, an organic garden in Durango.

SWEETIE MARBURY sits on the Durango City Council and has served the city in various capacities since 1987.
