There is no ‘I’ in ‘team’

It is not surprising to read the letter to the editor stating that many cars, including (allegedly) a sheriff’s deputy, drove by the stranded teen girls, while surrounding residents stayed inside. Remember “I built it!”? There seems to be a mindset here that it does not take a village, or an infrastructure; it only takes an “I” to do anything. It’s all about “you.” Everyone else is on their own.

While returning from a trip yesterday, I pulled off the road outside Walsenburg to check my map. Almost immediately a car pulled alongside me and asked if I was OK. I really appreciated the concern that citizen had for a fellow human being.
