What other kind of rifle is there?

First, it’s a magazine, not a clip. A clip is an apparatus for loading rounds into a magazine. Most “assault rifles” don’t even use them. For example, the AK-47 and its variants, and the AR-15 and its variants. I have used clips to load my 1950s-era Chinese SKS rifle, but not my AKs or my ARs.

I love the term “assault rifle.” What other kind of rifle is there? Aren’t all rifles made to “assault”? I want to see the “non-assault” rifle. I guess it shoots water balloons. I think it is quite fortunate that America is neither sane nor humane. If only the military and police SWAT units were legally permitted to have high capacity semi-auto rifles, I’d have to learn to make bombs. That sounds dangerous. Plus, I might pull a muscle while I was burying my high capacity semi-auto rifles to hide them from the government agents who were allowed to have them.

Why don’t you test your interpretation of the Second Amendment. Go back in time to say, 1800, and introduce a bill in Congress that outlaws private ownership of firearms. Then see how many oppose it because they claim the Constitution protects such private ownership. Finally, it’s not that Congress is “cowardly,” it’s that Congress agrees with the NRA, and George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, and Patrick Henry, and Sam Adams, and John Adams, etc., etc., etc.
