The government cannot ‘give’ rights

The Second Amendment was never intended to give a right to anything. You can not give something you do not have to someone that already has it. The Second Amendment was written to remind our government that it was not to infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The 10th Amendment clearly states that our government has only the rights given to it by the Constitution, and nowhere in the constitution is there anything that gives our government the authority to infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. That right belongs solely to the people.

Now, as for the nuts that are out to make a name for themselves by killing as many people as possible, depriving them of one type of weapon will only cause them to use something else. The SOBs that created the 9-11 disaster killed 3,000 people without firing a shot. Depriving the honest citizen of his means of self defense will help no one but the criminal and the nut. Had the theater in Aurora not been a gun free zone, an honest citizen may have stopped this idiot.
