Of all the many services in Montezuma County, I see that the animal shelter as one of the most valuable.
I hear of people using and needing this service nearly every week. This shelter has been run very well over the last years, and surely we cannot see it decrease in services and caring for lost, homeless, and pets in need of adoption.
As I mentioned, almost every week I hear a story of somebody desperately looking for a dog, or a story about somebody wanting to adopt a dog or cat, or a story about somebody needing to put a cat or dog in a home.
Please reconsider any ideas of slashing the funding for the Cortez Animal Shelter. Many, many of us depend on this fine place.
