As leaders in two of the sixteen charitable organizations that operate under the financial sponsorship of Mancos Valley Resources, we’re writing to ask the community to support MVR in its Heart of Our Community fundraising campaign.

MVR makes it possible, year-round, for the Pay It Forward Fund (PIFF) to assist Mancos Valley families facing sudden crises and for Mancos FoodShare to supply food regularly to area residents in need.

This year, the Western Excelsior fire presented us with an extraordinary challenge. Our generous community was eager to respond, and MVR was there to make it possible. MVR collected $30,000 in fire relief by enabling individuals to make tax-deductible donations and by co-producing a benefit film festival with Alpacka Raft.

Thanks to MVR’s effectiveness, PIFF and FoodShare were able to use those funds to deliver urgent aid to affected families immediately after the fire broke out and to offer sustaining assistance that continues even now.

Emergencies on that scale are, thankfully, rare. But the sixteen charities under the MVR umbrella are always at work, serving basic needs and enhancing quality of life through educational, cultural, and recreational projects.

Like PIFF and Mancos FoodShare, all of them depend on MVR as a partner in grant applications and community fundraising. Please support us by making a tax-deductible donation to MVR’s Heart of Our Community year-end campaign to ensure the Mancos Valley charitable network will thrive and grow.
