The local band Images performed for a packed crowd Sunday at Montezuma-Cortez High School Auditorium for the “Celebrate! Locals” concert.

The performance featured piano, bass, drums, alto-tenor-soprano saxophones, wind synthesizer, Nepalese wooden flute, flute and alto flute.

Lee Bartley and Rich Sallee formed the band Images in the early 1980s as a light jazz quartet. The band has gone on to release seven albums, two of which reached No. 8 and No. 9 in national radio play. In the band’s 16 years, they have performed at many festivals and opened concerts for The Rippingtons and The Yellowjackets. In 2011 and 2017, “Images” performed in Denver to eight sell-out crowds, according to the news release.
