BLM Christmas tree permits available in Western Colorado

Permits for cutting Christmas trees on Bureau of Land Management lands are available.

The permits are for piñon pine or juniper and are $8-10 per tree. Permits are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

In Dolores, go to the Dolores Public Lands Center, 29211 Colorado Highway 184. Call for more information.

Additionally, maps of cutting areas are available at the BLM offices, and the public should bring along a handsaw, eye protection, rope or twine, extra food, water and blankets.

Tire chains, a shovel and emergency supplies are also recommended.
