Please allow me to get a few words off my chest.

First, I want to say “congratulations” to the Cardinals Little League team for their amazing comeback in the semifinal tournament game on Friday. They were down 11-4 in the fifth inning and rallied in the sixth to score 10 runs and win the game. It was amazing!

However, because of small-town politics, the game was stripped from them based on “bogus” numbers — numbers our coach had no access to but were so conveniently given to our opponent to protest the game only when the score tipped in our favor.

But what can you do? Nothing! Are you supposed to complain to the same people who control everything? They just manipulate the system to their benefit. The only thing we can do is not put our son in such an unfair and biased league, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

These so-called leaders should be ashamed of themselves. They have compromised the integrity of the game, the spirit of competition, and most of all, the fairness of Little League itself.

I just want the Cardinal boys to know that they won that game, fair and square. We all saw it happen. They can’t protest it away. Hold your heads high and know that you deserve to be in the championship game. You are all “All Stars” to us.
