Rico gearing up for week of 4th of July festivities

Rico’s Fourth of July celebration is going into high gear starting the weekend of Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1, with the Arts and Crafts Faire at the Rico School, open at 10 a.m. Many vendors will be displaying their wares. On Wednesday, July 4 a parade will start at 11 a.m. The Four Corners Community Band will play in the parade and give a concert following at Jones Park, located behind the school and fire station. Local restaurants will have food available. A Duck Race is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on July 4 on the Dolores River. Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8, the Arts and Crafts Faire will continue at the Rico School, open at 10 a.m. The Women’s Club annual bake sale is scheduled for Saturday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Rico Fire Station. The traditional Old Timer’s Picnic will be Sunday, July 8 at the park south of Rico, starting at noon. The annual fireworks display has been cancelled this year due to dry conditions.
