Local fire and rescue trucks led the Parade of Lights down Main Street in Cortez last year.
Santa waves from the Auto Glass Wizards float in a previous Parade of Lights. This year’s event is Dec. 2.

The 28th annual Four Corners Board of Realtors Parade of Lights will be Saturday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. on Main Street in Cortez.

The parade’s theme is “Back-Country Christmas.”

In a news release, Terry McCabe, broker-associate at Century 21 West Slope Realty, said the theme was chosen to honor the grand marshal of this year’s parade, Osprey Packs.

“Our grand marshal this year is an organization that has literally put the Southwestern area of Colorado on the map,” McCabe said in a news release. “That has been a huge boost to both the economy of Montezuma County as well as making the commitment to protect our area.”

The Four Corners Board of Realtors will award first-, second- and third-place cash prizes to parade entries in each of three categories.

The parade is free to enter but interested parties must submit an entry form.

All entry forms must be returned to McCabe at Century 21 West Slope Realty.

Entry forms are available by calling Century 21 West Slope Realty at 970-565-8408, emailing terrymc@move2swcolo.com or by stopping by the realty’s office at 2218 E Main St. in Cortez. Entry forms are also available at The-Journal.com at bit.ly/C21Lights2017 and The Journal’s office at 8 W. Main St.
