Colorado Economic Development Commission approved Archuleta, Dolores, Montezuma and San Juan counties Sept. 21 as “rural jump-start zones.”

Pueblo Community College is the designated higher-education institution for the counties, through its Mancos campus, and its corporate college was responsible for submitting applications and providing information for the jump-start program.

Businesses that relocate to Archuleta, Dolores, Montezuma and San Juan counties will be eligible for tax incentives, including relief from state income tax, state sales and use tax, and county and municipal personal property taxes.
