As a citizen of the United States and of the great state of Colorado, I have one of the greatest privileges a state or country can give me. It is the right and the responsibility to vote. This privilege is mine because fellow citizens in the past have given of themselves, and even died, to see that I have it. Therefore, I must do my best to exercise this privilege with wisdom, understanding and integrity. This is just as true when voting in the primaries as when voting for a candidate in the final elections.

At this time, there are signs and placards posted all around the city and county. Many good citizens are running for election. How can I choose the best? I can only use the tools which have served in choosing people for jobs and responsibilities in other professions. So I look for the following:

Does the candidate have training for and knowledge of the position in which s/he will be serving/ Does the candidate have experience in the work which needs to be done? Has the candidate demonstrated integrity and commitment? Is the candidate familiar with the community where s/he will serve? And does the candidate have a greater purpose than just having a job?

As I have asked these questions about the candidates for district attorney, I find that the most viable candidate for the position is Russell Wasley. In his previous service as district attorney, he has demonstrated his integrity and commitment by working hard to uphold the law by prosecuting those who break it.

Please join me in voting. Vote for Russell Wasley.
